A Trio of Christmas Tales

As promised, I have more Christmas books to recommend to you. All are new this year. Three different genres. All look fabulous!

First up, a suspenseful tale by my good friend right here in Tulsa, Steven Hunt!

Chasing Christmas

by Steven Hunt

Steeped in depression, entrepreneur Teddy Whitaker hops aboard a freight train through the Ozark Mountains to escape his past and his problems.

Startled by a mysterious stranger who appears to him in a boxcar, Teddy discovers that in order to defeat the darkness and reclaim his life he must learn three lessons before Christmas morning.

If he succeeds, he will become a new man. If he fails, he will lose his life.
Yet, deep in the thick woods of Missouri stalks a certain evil; an evil determined for Teddy to fail.

Remember me telling you about A Sweethaven Summer and A Sweethaven Reunion? The ladies in Sweethaven return with A Sweethaven Christmas – That’s a lot of “sweets” isn’t it? But these are wonderful, heart-warming books by my friend Courtney Walsh. Don’t miss the conclusion to this wonderful series!

A Sweethaven Christmas

by Courtney Walsh

It’s holiday time in Sweethaven, but things don’t go quite as planned for these scrapbookers. Lila is thrown for a loop when a woman claiming to be her sister arrives in town. As she begins digging into the woman’s claims, Lila uncovers things about her family she may never be able to accept or forgive.

After the girls find an old scrapbook on Adele’s bookshelf, she is reminded of her first love, a Sweethaven boy whose heart she broke so many years ago. With help from modern technology, Adele arranges a reunion with this man. And when Campbell sees Luke with a ring, she isn’t sure whether to be happy or terrified. Are wedding bells in her future? For Jane and Meghan, Sweethaven is filled with the promise of something new — as well as good friends, a new scrapbook, and a little holiday magic!

Another friend’s book – I tell you, writing books has the side benefit of having some amazing friends. Anyhow, Jennifer AlLee has a book in the new Abingdon Press Quilts of Love Series which looks like a perfect way to curl up and enjoy a cozy read by the fire. I hope you’ll check it out.

A Wild Goosechase Christmas: Quilts of Love Series

by Jennifer AlLee

Upon her grandmother’s death, Izzy Fontaine finds herself in possession of a Wild Goose Chase pattern quilt that supposedly leads to a great treasure.

Of course, once the rest of the family finds out about the “treasure map,” they’re determined to have a go at the treasure themselves. And, if that weren’t enough, Max Logan, a local museum curator, contacts Izzy and says that Grandma Isabella promised him the quilt.

What is it about this quilt that makes everyone want it? Is Izzy on a wild goose chase of her own, or a journey that will lead her to the treasure her grandmother intended?

I know there’s someone (or many someones) on your Christmas list who would love getting one of these. And shopping’s easy. Just click and buy – Hey, it’s my new secret to stree-free holiday shopping!

Have a holly, jolly time until I’m back with some of my favorite books of 2012!
