In three short weeks, STARDUST will release. I can’t wait for y’all to read it! Everything about this book has been pure delight – from the research trip to East Texas to letting the characters dance onto the pages to seeing the cover my publisher created to holding the first hot-off-the press copy in my hands. It’s a feeling I can’t describe. Maybe a little like hard labor and then that final push, and voila, there it is – the baby you’ve long prepared for has arrived.
Just as each real-life baby is different, so is each book. For Stardust, I chose to have a video book trailer produced for the first time. Misty Taggart at Trailer to the Stars was a joy to work with, and I love how she captured my vision. Please, don’t take my word for it. See for yourself her incredible work:
Also, this past week, I was thrilled and honored to learn that Stardust will be an August selection for the Pulpwood Queens Book Club. Kathy Patrick is an amazing woman who brings authors and readers together not only for events throughout the year, but also gathers everyone together for her annual Girlfriend Weekend in Jefferson, Texas which I wrote about here. So humbled to be among such a great group of authors and the world’s most wonderful readers. I’m already making plans for Girlfriend Weekend, 2013!
