Support Your Local Library

Some of my earliest and fondest memories are of trips to the library when I was growing up. Summers especially when my sisters and I would get a new stash of books each week when our Mother went to town for the weekly shopping. Living way out in the country, this was our treat and our escape. I still love walking into a library where I get the same feeling that I’m surrounded by love and that adventures await between the pages.

My love of libraries is one reason I’m especially thrilled with participating in a fundraiser for my local Tulsa City-County Library this Saturday, Sept. 13. Our downtown library (Central Library) is closed for long-needed renovation. The organizers have put together a stellar program, including a talk by Jim Stovall, author of The Ultimate Gift. If you’re in the Tulsa area or within driving distance, this is an event you don’t want to miss. There are seven large gift baskets loaded with books and goodies as well as 4 $100 gift cards for those who come and buy books from 41 featured Oklahoma authors. Hope to see you there!
